Bhikku Mahâpañña, a Cambodian Buddhist monk in residence in Charlotte, visited Dr. Kaloyanides classes in April. Students enjoyed hearing about his experiences of retreat from the world and the challenges of living as a monk in our world today. Religious Studies Major Jared Spears presented his work at the Undergraduate Research Conference Jared’s paper was titled “Exploring Kamen Rider Fan Altars: Religious Expressions of Superhuman Power and Community Values.” His presentation included both visual and material evidence.
