Buddhist Monk Visits Dr. K’s class
Bhikku Mahâpañña, a Cambodian Buddhist monk in residence in Charlotte, visited Dr. Kaloyanides classes in April. Students enjoyed hearing about his experiences of retreat from the world and the challenges of living as a monk in our world today. Jared Spears at URC
Religious Studies Major Jared Spears presented his work at the Undergraduate Research Conference Jared’s paper was titled “Exploring Kamen Rider Fan Altars: Religious Expressions of Superhuman Power and Community Values.” His presentation included both visual and material evidence. Dr. Kaloyanides in Faculty Showcase
