David Flaherty (B.A., The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, magna cum laude) is a Master's student in the Department of Religious Studies where his research focuses on the study of gender/sexuality in contemporary India. His current work examines the ways hijras/kinnars utilize and engage with digital spaces, such as Instagram. His research engages in theories of performance, post-colonial studies, and queer theory.
