Scavenger Hunt…Begins!

Attention! Religious Studies Students! Attention!

The Department of Religious Studies begins our very first scavenger hunt…today! Below are the details and rules for our scavenger hunt. Good luck!

Details: Beginning every Monday, we will post a set of three (3) challenges (on our website!) that our graduate and undergraduate students can participate in for weekly prizes in which we will anounce the first set of three (3) students/teams who accomplished all challenges during the week on Friday! These first three (3) individuals/teams will each receive the weekly prizes. At the end of the semester, all students who participated will be placed in a drawing in which one (1) student will ultimately win the “grand” prize. We will post the weekly challenges on our Instagram page!

Rules:

(1) Students can choose to participate individually or in a team. The weekly prize will be the same, regardless of which strategy is chosen.

(2) Students must send in documentation of accomplishing each challenge to the following email: religiousstudies@charlotte.edu. Follow the weekly challenge prompts to know best how to submit documentation.

(3) Students must only use one email to send in proof of accomplishing the weekly challenges.

(4) The first three (3) individuals and/or teams to accomplish all three (3) challenges by midnight on Thursday will receive the prizes.

The theme for October is: Spooky Religion

Week 1: Mon, Oct 4-Fri, Oct 8: Ghosts of Religious Studies Pasts

  • Find a Religious Studies alumni thesis and/or faculty publication about ghosts/paranormal activities/hauntings. Send us the name and title.

  • Find and take a selfie with the Dr. Dan White’s memorial plaque in Macy. Send photo via email.

  • Who is Dr. Loy Witherspoon? Find an archive about the late Dr. Loy Witherspoon and send a picture of it (hint: Special Collections).
